Spell: Fire Shard


Ingredients: Dried twigs and chipped sulphur.

Procedure: Roll the twigs and chipped sulphur in palm while concentrating on the smoldering heat. Release in a throw at the target.

Result: If enough energy sparks an intense heat in the twigs, any flesh they come in contact with will be painfully scarred.  Clothing will catch fire, or melt metal items. Almost always the caster will receive a slight burn, or in the least intense sensations of heat in their hands.

Spell: Flare


Ingredients: Shredded bits of dried bark and leaves, chipped sulphur, and phosphorus.

Procedure: Roll sulphur and phosphorus vigorously in both hands while focusing upon the mounting heat.  Take hold of dried bark and leaves and tense muscles, flooding stored energy into the wood as you launch it at your target.

Result: A well prepared flare will burst into flames near a target, catching fire to their clothing and temporarily disorienting them.  A high risk of hands being burned, or clothing catching fire accompanies this spell.

Spell: Flash


Ingredients: Phosphorus, ground up dried leaves.

Procedure:Grind phosphorus and ground up dried leaves till they began to flare, then toss the vibrant flame in the direction of your target.

Result: If successfully prepared flash will blind a target for hours, even days.  If the target manages to avoid full exposure to their eyes, they'll still be heavily disoriented.
